At SAFI, we’re passionate about empowering our interns with practical skills and real-world knowledge. Today was a perfect example! Our interns from various academic institutions, including Mountains of the Moon University, Kabale University, Uganda Martyrs University, and Makerere University, were in the field, getting their hands dirty with soil sampling and on-the-spot soil testing.
They used an innovative soil testing kit developed by the Department of Soil Science of Makerere University to analyze levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and organic matter. This isn’t just theory; it’s vital, hands-on experience that will directly impact their future careers in agriculture. We believe in learning by doing, and our interns are consistently rising to the challenge!
