Our Commitment to the SDGs
Since our inception, we have been dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), an international framework for a more equitable and prosperous future. Our work aligns with several SDGs: Goal 1 (No Poverty) through economic empowerment; Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) by improving food security; and Goal 13 (Climate Action) by fostering resilience and sustainable practices.
Our mission advances SDG 1: No Poverty
By investing in production, entrepreneurship, value addition, and innovation, we empower individuals and communities to overcome poverty and drive economic growth, thereby directly supporting SDG 1.
We design projects that enable youth and women to launch new businesses, generating lasting employment and sustainable livelihoods.
We advance SDG 13: Climate Action
By engaging communities in tree planting, directly supporting climate change mitigation and adaptation. By promoting sustainable land management in Kasese district, we demonstrate practical contributions toward SDG 13’s climate resilience goals.
We address SDG 2: End Hunger
By nourishing people and the future. Our strategy sustains a healthy agricultural ecosystem, empowers farmers, and fosters sustainable practices, all of which support access to safe and nutritious food—the core objectives of SDG 2.
SAFI plans and leads extensive training courses for farmers. These courses provide farmers with the knowledge and skills needed to adopt sustainable practices such as integrated pest management, water conservation, and soil health management. This approach promotes a healthier environment for future generations, increases yields, and reduces reliance on hazardous chemicals.
By promoting climate-smart agriculture, we encourage crop diversification to improve nutrition and resilience. Tangible results such as improved food security and reduced water use underscore our progress toward sustainable agriculture.
